A Study on the status of physical therapy and its Treatment Satisfaction in Apolexy(C.V.A) patients who were treated in some Oriental Hospitals.


Abstract
As a result of making up a question against stroke patients in three oriental hospitals for 3 months, from April, 1, 1995 to June, 30, 1995 with the view of offering fundamental data which helped development of recovering program and more efficient physical therapy administration after grasping the practical state of stroke patient and patient¡¯s satisfaction degree for the method of therapy. It can be concluded and summarized as follows.
1. Sustaining illness period of stroke patient, two through six months, was highest, 37.1%. In the period property, 41.2% of women, 44.4% of forties(P<0.05), 50.5% of expert engineering job, 39.4% of married people(P,0.05), 40.2% of middle class(P,0.05), 50.5% of people who graduated from high school, 47.4% of hospitalized patients, each was higher than any other group.
2., Recurrence frequency was appeared as 72.8% of the first, 23.6% of recurrence. In a kind of property, the first ¢¥occurrence was 77.7% of women, 79.5% of housewives, 86.4% of unmarried people, 76.7% of upper class, 79.4% of people who graduated from Univ., each was higher than any other group, and recurrence is 27.7% of men, 37.5% of expert engineering job, 27.5% of unmarried people, 29.3% of lower class, understanding of the Korean language, high school career, and hospitalized patients, each was higher than any other group.
3. Paralysis symptom was 48.0% of right side local paralyzed patients, 41.0% of left side local paralyzed patient, 5.4% of general paralyzed patients.
Right side local paralyzed patient was higher in 40s and 50s, the lower income and the higher schooling. General paralysis is higher in 50s, teachers and people who finished middle school than that any other group. 4. Satisfaction degree of liquid medicine treatment was 47.7% of satisfaction and 5.5% of dissatisfaction. In a kind of property, a little satisfaction was higher in administration, unmarried people, middle school graduating people and older ages than that of any other group. Dissatisfaction was higher in expert engineering and high graduating people than that of any other group.
5. Satisfaction of physical therapy, 62.1%, was higher than that of liquid medicine treatment and manual treatment. It i the highest in men, under thirty nine, expert engineering and housewives, unmarried people,1 middle class, people graduating high school and outpatients.
6. Satisfaction of manual treatment was 57.4% of feeling satisfied and 4.0% of feeling unsatisfied_ Satisfaction degree was higher in administration, middle class, people graduating high school, outpatient and older ages¢¥;
7. Anticipation against present treatment was 42.1% of total recovery, 40.4% of part recovery.¢¥. The rate of negative respondence against entire recovery was higher in expert engineering, student, administration, unmarried, middle upper class, outpatient, middle school and high school graduating people, and fifties and seventies.
8. Stroke transferring period was rightly related to recurrence frequency(P<0.001). and recurrence frequency was rightly related to the degree of subjective handicap.
The authorities of hospital, associated organization, and therapist will have to take care of the development of recovering program which can maximize satisfaction degree and affection of therapy, by analyzing! in a kind of property and looking over unsatisfactory causes against each datum with conferring results as ab)ve, and improving the effective treatment method for therapy service which can allow patient to keep his physical function and can achieve flexity of patient¢¥s independent life.
